Royal Family News: Prince William Thanks Over 300 Healthcare Workers Personally

British Royal family news reveals that the Prince William, Duke of Cambridge has already spoken to over 300 staff and volunteers since the start of the year 2021, Kensington Palace revealed.

Kensington Palace issued a press release on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, which reads: “To the medical staff, porters, cleaners, volunteers, pharmacists, administrators and all those working across the NHS — thank you for everything that you do.”

The People reported Prince William has additionally spoken to 62 individuals through phone calls to thank them personally for their service amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The Duke wanted to check in on the well-being of all those supporting the NHS at this time, and to thank them for the vital part they are playing in the UK’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic,” the release stated.

The Prince has conversed with the modern-day heroes through a series of one-on-one phone calls and video calls. He has spoken to healthcare workers in different healthcare settings, not only to the frontline workers including GP surgeries, pharmacies, staff, and volunteers handling the coronavirus vaccine but also to those who are in non-clinical roles like domestic services.

He has also participated in video calls in five regional meetings with the CEOs and directors of National Health Service trusts and boards to have a clearer picture of the challenges these local organizations have experienced in the past years.

The Kensington Royal posted the press release together with a recorded video call of His Royal Highness and Dr. Thelma Craig, a respiratory consultant at the Mater Hospital in Belfast.

At the beginning of the video, we see Prince William greeting Dr. Craig. As his ‘thank you’ message continues, pictures of healthcare workers and other staff are continually shown in the video.

“I just want to say on behalf of everyone what a fantastic job you’ve done. You’ve all held it together and been absolutely wonderful people. It’s been a real team effort, but we’re all very proud of you. The NHS has gone from already being much loved to probably the most admired organization around. Thank you so much for all your hard work,” Prince William said.

Royal Family News – An Emotional Call

Just last month, Prince William had an emotional call with a community children’s nurse from Kirkcudbright in Dumfries and Galloway.

Nurse Jenny Manson detailed to him how she cared for a nine-year-old terminally ill girl Holly Clarke at her home. Holly’s family was able to savor their last precious months before Holly passed away in October.

She was nominated by the family and won the Nurse of the Year category of the Scottish Health Awards.
