British royal family news reveals that the UK’s Prince William is urging the nation to be like Queen Elizabeth II, his grandmother, in terms of COVID. Specifically, he is encouraging others to get the COVID-19 inoculation as she has. Right now there is a resistance against the vaccine among a segment of the population who have fears about its safety.

Both the queen and her husband, Prince Philip, have received the shot according to an official announcement. William made his comments on a video call with National Health Service members on Saturday. When the staff told William that some members of the public are hesitant to take the vaccines he spoke about his grandparents.

“My grandparents have had the vaccine and I am very proud of them for doing that,” William said. “It is really important that everyone gets the vaccine when they are told to.”

The news of the queen’s medical decision broke with royal protocol. Normally medical matters are not discussed yet it was said that the queen wanted to eliminate speculation and increase confidence in the shots. At the present time the NHS hopes to give the first dose of the vaccine to everyone in the country over age 70 by mid-February.
