Today it was announced they share another similarity from their perch in the weeds, they will not be graced with Jubilee medals like other members of the Armed Forces. Both served in the military and yet both are distinctly separated from their former military careers.
In fall Andrew must answer to a sexual assault civil suit which names him as a defendant. Harry’s latest infraction involves a threat to sue his own grandmother Queen Elizabeth for not giving him what he wants (paid government security).

Neither can lay claim to the honorary titles they once enjoyed which means they are not eligible for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee medal, which will be awarded on February 6.
The Jubilee marks the Queen’s 70 years on the throne. There will be a four day holiday celebrating the magnificent feat and, “the commemorative medal will be awarded to serving members of the Armed Forces, police, fire, emergency and prison services.” All except for Disgraced Andrew and Disgruntled Harry.
After a big blow to his legal case, Andrew, the Duke of York was stripped of his military affiliations and royal patronages last week. Many thought this should have happened sooner based on his ongoing legal case with Virginia Roberts Giuffre, who has accused him of sexual assault. Andrew denies her allegation.

In a statement last week, Buckingham Palace said: “With the Queen’s approval and agreement, the Duke of York’s military affiliations and royal patronages have been returned to the Queen. The Duke of York will continue not to undertake any public duties and is defending this case as a private citizen.”
His honorary military titles were Honorary Air Commodore of RAF Lossiemouth; Colonel-in-Chief of the Royal Irish Regiment; Colonel-in-Chief of the Small Arms School Corps; Commodore-in-Chief of the Fleet Air Arm; Royal Colonel of the Royal Highland Fusiliers; Deputy Colonel-in-chief of the Royal Lancers (Queen Elizabeths’ Own); and Royal Colonel of the Royal Regiment of Scotland.
Harry was stripped of three honorary titles: Captain General of the Royal Marines; Honorary Air Commandant of RAF Honington; and Commodore-in-Chief, Small Ships and Diving, Royal Naval Command. This was due to his choice to abandon the monarchy in 2020.
It emerged this week that Harry is threatening legal action if he does not get government security while in the UK (whenever next that may be).
