Princes Have Gourmet Taste Buds

According to HELLO! the menus at Eton College are “decadent” and to die for. Students are treated to three square meals a day starting with breakfast which is, “nothing short of an all-inclusive holiday resort,” according to the caterer Sodexo.

The website notes that, “We pride ourselves in making everything from scratch, starting with the fresh bread every day.”

It continues, “Boys love the huge variety of foods, starting with breakfast, which features cereals, a porridge bar, homemade granola, a cooked selection, continental meats and cheeses and a different smoothie each day and, incredibly, nine types of milk!” From nine types of cows?

Royal Family News – What Do Boarding School Boys Eat?

Apparently Eton boys favor a world-fusion type of cuisine, not burgers and fries. According to the caterer for the school, “Our core menus contain both traditional and cutting-edge foods from around the world. Lunch and dinner also present boys with a most amazing salad bar and on Saturday evenings, they enjoy new flavour profiles with a street food theme.” Because who doesn’t like street meat?

The thematic foods based on, “interest in international cuisine,” include Dominican chimichurri burgers with smoked mayonnaise in a brioche bun, vegan bao buns with pulled jackfruit and sweet celeriac slaw, and Vietnamese pork banh mi with sriracha tahini sauce.

Apparently, “up to 1500 teas for parents and boys, involved with cricket, tennis and athletics,” are provided on Saturday. What else is there to say except, bon appetite, y’all!
