Royal Family News: Princess Diana Claimed Charles Would “Murder” Her

British royal family news reveals that this Wednesday marks the 25th anniversary of Princess Diana’s tragic death following a Paris car crash. In perhaps a sign of the times, reports indicate that her sons Princes William and Harry will not jointly “publicly or privately” acknowledge their mother’s untimely demise.

In the documentary Lord Stevens, the former commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, describes the horrific moment he was made to ask Prince Charles questions following the death of his ex-wife. Stevens interviewed Charles, “after her butler Paul Burrell wrote a letter saying Diana thought she might be murdered before her untimely death.”

According to the Daily Mail, “Prince Charles was interviewed by Lord Stevens and former Met Detective Chief Superintendent David Douglas but denied he had any involvement in his wife’s death in a Paris tunnel on August 31, 1997.”

Stevens lays the grisly interview squarely on the shoulder of Burrell and his letter. According to him, “Princess Diana had stated that she was going to be murdered by her husband. We had to see whether there was any substance to that and we had to have his reply to it. I’m sure something like that had not ever happened before so that was unprecedented.”

Under the circumstances one might expect the future king of England to balk at such a request. Instead, Stevens said that he, “understood the reason for it and was only too willing to cooperate. He was extremely charming. He denied being involved in an way and that was noted.”

Apparently Charles was clueless as to why Burrell would write such a letter. “He just couldn’t understand any of it.”
