Royal Family News: Princess Diana’s Statue Is A One Of A Kind Just Like Her

British royal family news reveals that a special statue of the late Princess Diana was unveiled on July 1, 2021. That date would have been her 60th birthday and the sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley was commissioned by her sons to create a one of a kind masterpiece.

Diana, Princess of Wales remains one of the most beloved British royals. She was Prince Charles’ first wife and during their marriage (from 1981 to 1996) they had Prince William and Prince Harry.

They divorced and in 1997 Princess Diana was killed in a tragic car accident in Paris. In her honor her sons commissioned the statue that stands in the Sunken Garden said to be one of her favorite places.

The area around the statue was redesigned by Pip Morrison prior to the placement of the bronze work which depicts Diana with three children. The statue is said to commemorate her humanitarian work and her love of children. Before she married into the royal family Diana was a school aide.

There is an inscription on the pedestal on the back of the statue that includes the names of her two sons. The men commissioned the statue years ago when both were apparently getting along much better than they are now. There is a reported rift between them, and Harry himself said that they are on, “different paths.” It was a rare moment of understatement for the royal redhead who has gone on to throw his family under the bus on numerous occasions.

In case you would like to gain further insight into Princess Diana’s life and times, a new film about her is set to drop in two months. It is titled Spencer and stars Twilight actress Kristen Stewart. A short video clip was released last week that got tongues wagging about the American’s fake English accent and other assorted observations.

Some are claiming that Stewart will be nominated for an Oscar, she is that good. The film was directed by Pablo Lorraine and comes to theaters on November 5th.
