This year’s event is supported by The Royal Foundation, and the service will recognize the humanitarian efforts of selfless citizens across the UK. The service also celebrates the happiness that coming together to lift spirits can bring about.
In memoriam of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, this year’s concert is dedicated to her. The late queen passed away on September 8, at her Sandringham estate. It is expected that the virtues extolled by the queen, those of duty, empathy, faith, service, kindness, and compassion, will be highlighted.

These same values are, “shared and personified by the inspirational guests who have been invited to the Abbey in recognition of their tireless work to help and care for those around them,” according to the Daily Mail.
The concert was also featured on the Princess and Prince of Wales’ Instagram account. There the event was promoted with the following caption: “#TogetherAtChristmas is all about shining a light on people doing selfless and often life-changing things in their communities.”
