British royal family news reveals that the late Princess Margaret’s social media sensation grandson Arthur Chatto will soon join the Marines.

He is the first royal to do so since Prince Edward (who later dropped out) and is the son of Lady Sarah Chatto. According to The Sun he told the Queen last week that he has been accepted to train as an officer in the Royal Marines.

Perhaps that is why he recently deleted his @artchatto page? The account was full of the model’s daily comings and goings including semi-nude photos of the hunk baring his toned torso.

Prince Edward joined the demanding unit in 1986 and lasted four months. The queen is said to be, “pleased and proud,” at the news.

Arthur may fare better than Edward as he is a personal trainer who is said to favor 20 mile hikes and has prepared for the rigors of the Marines by camping in the rugged Scottish Highlands.

A royal source told the outlet, “He has gone straight into the officer training in this year’s intake and is very keen and up for it. It’s a dead cert he’ll get a lot further than Prince Edward ever did.”

Arthur attended Edinburgh University where he studied geography. He pulled a double duty by working as a personal trainer at a city gym.

He once shared a pic of himself on Instagram with the caption: “I’m a level 3 personal trainer, I specialise in strength and endurance training with a military focus.”

Last year he participated in the epic 2,000-mile GB Row Challenge to raise funds for charity. His team raised funds for Just One Ocean and the British Red Cross.

At the end of the challenge the triumphant sailor was met at the finish at St. Katherine Docks in London by his girlfriend Lizzie Friend and his family.

Arthur attended Eton where he was in its Combined Cadet Force, before enrolling at Edinburgh University. The athletic outdoorsman is also proficient at outdoor sports including Arctic diving and mountain climbing. It sounds like the Marines have gotten one highly trained and highly motivated recruit in Arthur who is sure to do the royal family proud.
