British Royal News says that a protester was arrested after disrupting Prince William and Kate Middleton’s royal engagement in Cornwall this week. According to Matt Wilkinson of The Sun, a protester was holding a bank piece of paper when he disrupted William and Kate’s walkabout.

He was also heard saying, “No more monarchy” until he was detained by the police soon after the Prince and Princess of Wales departed. When Wilkinson caught up with the protester and asked him why he did that, he replied with, “It’s the 21st century we don’t need a monarchy any more, it’s f***ng ridiculous.”

It seems like there are a lot of people out there that agree with him, for better or for worse. Needless to say, many critics sure did have a lot to say about the matter on social media.

Some commented with, “Why was he detained? Was he violent? I mean, is the monarchy really so fragile that protecting against it is forbidden? Sounds like a dictatorship,” along with, “That’s the saddest looking protester ever. He kinda flopped. But I do think that the whole monarchy thing is silly, good for tourism, but most agree, it’s BS.”
