British Royal Family News says that there’s no truth to Prince Harry’s claims that Camilla Parker Bowles used him in order to get better press for herself with the British tabloid media – at least that’s what some sources are saying behind closed doors. Here’s what you need to know.

In Spare, the Duke of Sussex accuses Queen Camilla of leaking a conversation with Prince William. “Shortly after our private summits with her, she began to play the long game. A campaign aimed at marriage, and eventually the Crown, with Pa’s blessing we presumed,” Harry wrote.

When asked about this excerpt, Harry told Tom Bradby during their sit down interview with ITV: “Stories began to appear everywhere in all the papers about her private conversation with Willie, stories that contained pinpoint accurate details, none of which had come from Willie, of course. They could only have been leaked by the other one other person present.”

Harry also writes that he and his brother Prince William begged their father not to marry Camillla. He wrote, “Despite Willy and me urging him not to, Pa was going ahead. We pumped his hand, wished him well. No hard feelings. We recognized that he was finally going to be with the woman he loved, the woman he’d always loved. Fate might’ve intended for him in the first place. Whatever bitterness or sorrow we felt over the closing of another loop in Mummy’s story, we understood that it was besides the point.”

He continued, “I remember wondering … if she would be cruel to me; if she would be like all the evil stepmothers in the stories.” He added: “Willy had been suspicious of the Other Woman for a long time, which confused and tormented him. When those suspicions were confirmed, he felt agonizing remorse for not having done or said anything before.”

Yet, one source close to the situation says, “Harry has created a very crisp narrative which in parts is a conflation of different versions of stories.”
