British royal family news reveals that Queen Elizabeth has every intention of marking her epic Platinum Jubilee with the same show of style and strength that has marked her incredible 70 year reign. Recent mobility issues had the citizens fearing she would not be able to attend her own celebration but its being reported that she will make two appearances on the Buckingham Palace balcony to kick off the celebrations on Thursday.

She will first appear at Trooping the Colour, Her Majesty’s official Birthday Parade. The parade kicks off the start of the four-day bank holiday weekend.
A royal insider said, “The Queen is determined to take part in the Jubilee celebrations. Trooping was brought forward by one week to be part of the Jubilee this year and the Queen very much wants to be part of it.”

The parade involves Crowds the 1st Battalion Irish Guards plus more than 1,500 officers and soldiers from the Household Division as they march to show the colour, aka the flag. In addition, more than 350 horses and hundreds of military musicians will be involved in the parade and members of the Royal Family will be on horseback and in carriages.

In one sign of her mobility issues, this year the Queen will not inspect the troops herself that job goes to her son and heir Charles, the Prince of Wales.
Instead she will be on the balcony of Buckingham Palace beside her cousin the Duke of Kent and will salute as the guards return to barracks.

Royal Family News – The Queen Will Be On The Balcony Twice
For her second visit to the balcony, the Queen will return to watch the RAF flyover at the end of the parade. Only senior working royals will be allowed on the balcony and this includes: the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge with their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, the Earl and Countess of Wessex with their children Lady Louise and Viscount James, Princess Anne and her husband Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, the Duke of Kent and Princess Alexandra.
Another change to tradition came when yesterday Prince William carried out the Colonel’s Review of the Irish Guards, considered a dress rehearsal for the main trooping ceremony. William will be king following the reign of his father Charles.
