According to a royal expert, the family realize her lonely situation and have vowed to be there for her, even as she cancelled her attendance at a church service at Windsor.
Royal Family News – The Queen’s Family Is There For Her
Royal watcher Katie Nicholl spoke to True Royalty TV’s The Royal Beat and said that the chances of the queen being all alone on Christmas day are slim to none.
She said Prince Andrew will likely visit as he is, “always by the Queen’s side.” And, since the death of Prince Philip at the age of 99 in April, Andrew’s beleaguered ex-wife Sarah Ferguson (and current co-habitator) could snag an invite.
It’s been widely reported that Sarah was not one of Philip’s favored relatives, not after news of her extramarital affair broke while she was visiting with Philip and the queen.
The Queen Has A Loyal Family
Katie said, “The idea the Queen will be on her own for Christmas without Philip, I simply cannot believe the family will allow to happen, I don’t think it will happen. Another royal watcher, Ingrid Seward, echoed that sentiment. She said that Andrew will, “definitely be there, he is always at the Queen’s side,” right before Katie speculated that, “maybe now Philip isn’t there, Fergie will be too.”
Philip’s absence marks the first time the queen will celebrate the holiday without him following their 73 years of marriage. The other family members expected to rally around the monarch are Prince Charles and Camilla, as well as Prince Andrew’s daughters Beatrice and Eugenie.
Royal Family News – How Many People Will Help The Queen Celebrate Christmas?
Others who may pop up to cheer the queen are William and Kate, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their three children, plus Prince Edward and his wife Sophie Wessex and their two youngsters.
Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah cohabitate at their home in Windsor. He is said to be his mom’s favorite child but Fergie has not been invited along with him to many royal celebrations over the years since their divorce. Philip reportedly regarded the Duchess of York as, “simply beyond the pale,” according to the Daily Mail.
