British Royal Family News says that some royal critics out there believe that Queen Elizabeth should have done more when it came to Prince Andrew and his scandalous behavior. Here’s what you need to know.

Prince Andrew’s life definitely isn’t like it was before and especially now that his brother King Charles III has taken the throne. There were reports indicating that the Duke of York wanted to make a comeback in the spotlight, but King Charles is making sure that never happens. Too much damage has been done with Prince Andrew’s association with the dead but also disgraced financer, Jeffrey Epstein.

Not only that, but all the accusations that were made against him have certainly but a dent in his reputation. Andrew was accused of sexual assault and apparently paid his accuser a huge sum of money to make all of the headlines go away.

According to royal author Katie Nicholl, she thinks Queen Elizabeth should have done more to put Prince Andrew in his place – and that place was no where near the royal spotlight. Yet, Andrew gave his mother his word “on more than one occasion that he was innocent.” This prompted Nicholl to wonder, “had some of her sharpness softened?”

She also added, “My understanding was that Queen Elizabeth did quiz him [about Epstein]. She asked him about the Epstein allegations and about his relationship with Virginia Giuffre. They had a very honest conversation, and Andrew assured her that he was innocent of those allegations. She believed him. This was her son after all. And she didn’t just believe him. She stood by him.”

And while no one knows exactly what Andrew is doing behind closed doors these days, some reports say that he’s still trying to break free from the confines of his very boring life and step back into the spotlight in one way or another. But before that happens, there’s debate on whether or not British taxpayers should still pay for his security. If he’s not doing any legitimate work for the royal family then what’s the point, right?
