British Royal family news reveals that the cat is out of the bag: the public now knows that the UK’s Prince William Duke of Cambridge was infected with coronavirus in April. But his London-based family knew all along according to a royal insider.
One thing to come out of the big reveal is that Buckingham Palace is very good at keeping secrets, maybe too good. Some royal watchers are dismayed that the news was kept hushed up for seven months, despite the fact that William allegedly did so because he did not want to alarm the public.
The Queen Was Very Worried When Her Two Direct Heirs Prince William And Prince Charles Were Diagnosed With COVID-19
This weekend The Sun reported that a source disclosed that Prince William tested positive for coronavirus in early April but kept the diagnosis secret to avoid panic at a time when two major figures in the country were also infected. His father Prince Charles and the British Prime Minister were both diagnosed with the virus and it was a source of major concern at the time.
According to The Sun, William was treated by palace doctors as he isolated at home. After the news broke the Daily Mail tweeted that Kensington Palace confirmed that Kate Middleton and the couple’s three children were not diagnosed with the virus despite isolating with William.
Kensington Palace Has Confirmed That William’s Family Were Not Infected With Coronavirus
After the shocking reveal, some royal watchers voiced disappointment that the news was kept hidden. Majesty magazine’s Joe Little said, “I suppose you could say that we’re living in extremely unusual times and it was done with the best of intentions. But with the benefit of hindsight, I suppose it is questionable.”
The stunning news included the information that William was afflicted with severe breathing difficulties but a source close to the royal family has since denied that claim. “My understanding was that he was not bed-ridden and actually coped pretty well with the virus, working for most of the time he had it,” the insider said.
They added that “It was no secret among the family, but William didn’t want it getting out because he didn’t want to worry the nation.”
The exact details of his diagnosis and illness are still undisclosed but William appears to have fully recovered from the infection. He and his family recently enjoyed a weeklong vacation out of the country and he has yet to comment on the news of his illness.

In most countries a person's medical treatment and diagnosis is their personal, extremely private and confidential information. Williams health is his personal business. Things like sharing the birth of his children who as Royals may one day want to represent the UK and Commonwealth in some form is one thing but something regarding a personal health issue is a different matter entirely. Why should William not be entitled to the same privacy with regards to his health and treatment that we all expect and should receive. Would making his condition known have helped the general public, possibly but when a person is sick they often want privacy to heal and concentrate on their recovery. Covid has been a very scary, potentially life-threatening condition and I don't blame or judge anyone for being extremely worried and perhaps frightened faced with this virus. William has shown he is devoted to his grandmother the Queen and his duties to the UK and Commonwealth and this future King doesn't complain about having to share his life and children with his people. He should be entitled to some degree of privacy and a person's health should be so, even for royalty.
I think Harry and Megan are 2 spoiled brats who think what they say and think is important. Wish they would move elsewhere, preferably Africa. Heads up you two, no one
likes you.
