A “sprained back” was the reason given for her absence at the Remembrance Sunday Service, and prior to that she missed a royal trip to Northern Ireland as well as the COP26 conference in Glasgow.
The palace insisted she would be at the Remembrance Sunday event, but two hours before the event the news broke that she would not appear.
Royal watcher Piers Morgan tweeted, “There’s something we’re not being told about the Queen’s health, it’s clearly a more serious situation than the Palace is saying.”
Royal Family News – What is Wrong With the Queen?
Piers’ tweet came after the need to hospitalize the queen in October for an undisclosed ailment, reportedly not related to the sprained back. Buckingham Palace stated said it was with, “great regret,” that the Queen pulled out of the Sunday event.
The statement read in part, “The Queen, having sprained her back, has decided this morning with great regret that she will not be able to attend today’s Remembrance Sunday Service at the Cenotaph.”
The Telegraph’s associate editor and royal expert, Camilla Tominey echoed Piers’ tweet and she commented that the Queen’s latest cancellation, “lends more weight to the theory that the Queen’s health issues are largely mobility related.”
Royal Family News – The Queen Missed Remembrance Sunday
The Queen’s health was called into question in October after news leaked that she was hospitalized for the first time in eight years. At that time the palace issued a statement that read in part, “The Queen attended hospital on Wednesday afternoon for some preliminary investigations, returning to Windsor Castle at lunchtime today (Thursday), and remains in good spirits.”
The brevity and non-specific nature of the statement did nothing to allay public fears about Her Majesty’s health especially since royal aides were accused of initially covering up the Queen’s condition.
In recent weeks the queen was seen using a cane, a device she last used in 2003 after a knee operation. Additionally, it’s thought that the queen’s mobility issues have prevented her from walking her corgis around Windsor Castle.
The Queen Has A Jubilee Coming Up
Nothing has been said about the occurrence of the queen’s upcoming Platinum Jubilee. In 2022 she will celebrate 70 years on the throne, and for now the Jubilee appears to remain on the calendar.
