British royal family news shows that 95-year-old Queen Elizabeth was diagnosed with Covid nine days ago forcing her to cancel all royal duties, both in person and digital. She now appears to be on the mend, hosting two virtual audiences with foreign ambassadors at her Windsor Castle home today.
Royal experts were delighted by the news, with royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams calling, “splendid news that indicates she has recovered from Covid.” Royal expert Phil Dampier tweeted that the Queen was, “seemingly a lot better. What a woman.”
The queen spoke to diplomats who were at Buckingham Palace. The queen received a positive test on February 20, and ceased all official activities after that.

At the time Buckingham Palace said that she was experiencing, “mild cold like symptoms,” but that she would continue with “light duties” behind the scenes.
Also today Prince Charles said that his mother was feeling, “a lot better now.” He made the comments during a visit to Essex to present Southend with the Letters Patent granting it city status following the death of MP Sir David Amess.
According to the Daily Mail, “During their visit to the UK’s newest city, the prince and his wife Camilla went on a long walkabout on the seafront and Janice Jacom, 64, an admin worker from a local golf course, asked about the Queen’s health.”

Jacom said, “I asked the prince about his mother and he said ‘she’s a lot better now – it was very mild’. It was a bit worrying as the Queen is getting on a bit, but I think she’s absolutely wonderful.” The queen was hospitalized late last year for an undisclosed ailment and cancelled several appearances at that time. This year is her Platinum Jubilee which includes a four day bank holiday in June.
