Royal Family News: Queen Elizabeth Prepping Prince Charles On Sidelines For Day He Becomes King

Queen Elizabeth And Prince CharlesBritish royal family news shows that 94-year-old United Kingdom Queen Elizabeth is doing everything she can to prepare her son for a successful ascension to the throne. According got one royal watcher, she has been giving added duties, “to Prince Charles, so he can take on things in preparation”

Royal watcher Marlene Koenig claims that Queen Elizabeth has never been more popular, making her succession actions all the more ironic, seeing as how many do not want to see Charles become king and prefer his son William instead.

She told Express.co.uk, that the likelihood of the Queen abdicating the throne is unlikely for several reasons. For one her popularity is sky-high, she is in good health as far as we know, and the resolute lady vowed to remain on the throne until her death.

Queen Elizabeth Made A Vow To The People That She Would Lead The Monarchy Until Her Death

But Koenig added that Queen Elizabeth is slowly passing more duties down to her son Prince Charles, in anticipation of the day he does succeed her. She said, “If Her Majesty becomes ill, the 1937 and 1953 regency acts come into play and Prince Charles would be the Regent. This is just as the Prince of Wales was Regent for George III, so I would be very surprised if the Queen decided she wanted to step down.”

She noted that “The Queen’s life has been one of service and right now she is going gangbusters. People are seeing more of the Queen now than other people in the world. She is making sure she is still being seen and doing different things.”

When Will Prince Charles Finally Become King?

Koenig reinforced the sentiment that unless the Queen was incapacitated to the point she could not rule, she would continue in her duties and stay as the head of the monarchy, preparing Prince Charles on the sidelines.
“But for the past number of years more and more things have been passed to Prince Charles, so he can take on things in preparation,” she said.

She also reiterated the words the young Queen said regarding her rule. “She gave a speech, I will paraphrase it, she said whether my life is long or short I will be there to serve you. Abdication is a dirty word for the British monarchy.” And there you have it, the queen is not known for going back on her word!
