He told GB News this morning: “It’s so very sad and I hope she is able to make her anniversary celebrations. I have heard that the reason she’s not doing a lot of the events that she should be doing and cancelling them is because she is in a wheelchair.”
Royal Family News – Who Is Christopher Biggins?
He added that according to what he has heard, “She doesn’t want to be seen because she’s very proud.” Biggins said the moment of Margaret being wheeled about in public was “embarrassing” for the queen and the Royal Family.
His words emerge after it was reported that Buckingham Palace has in place a well planned “military-style” plan to take the 95-year old Queen to her late husband Prince Philip’s memorial service next week.
According to the Daily Mail, “The operation is said to include flying Her Majesty from Windsor Castle to Buckingham Palace by helicopter, transporting her by car, and using a private screen to shield her from photographers.” Is the queen turning into a diva?
Royal Family News – Will The Queen Turn Into A Diva?
A source told the Mail on Sunday that the queen is “haunted” by photographic images of her late sister Princess Margaret sitting in a wheelchair and she is determined not to be pictured in similar circumstances.
The Queen has been seen using a cane but she has not been seen in a wheelchair in public. She has cancelled numerous public engagements over the last few months, with mobility issues thought to be the cause.
Most notably she decided not to attend the annual Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey last Monday.
Will The Queen Become A Recluse?
It’s been published that the Queen had a elevator installed at Craigowan Lodge on the Balmoral estate in Aberdeenshire. Biggins said such a contraption, “is all the rage.”
“Everyone I know is putting in lifts. You can fit a lift very, very cheaply if you have the space. Two flights of stairs for me now is quite something.”
