The QueenBritish royal family news shows that THE Queen listens to what else, Queen, for a spot of tea and sandwiches. A newly released video shows Her Majesty and Paddington Bear rocking out to Queen’s We Will Rock You as a kick-start to Saturday’s Platinum Jubilee concert.

The popular bear first tells the queen, “thank you very much for everything,” before the beat comes on and both begin tapping the china cups to the tune of We Will Rock You. Nothing you see today is cuter, we guarantee!

The concert is the signature event on the third day of a four day bank holiday in honor of the queen’s 70th year on the throne. The 96-year-old monarch’s Platinum Jubilee proves that she is the most popular royal, with a record-breaking 22,000 people in attendance outside Buckingham Palace. Scheduled performers on the specially built 360-degree stage include Diana Ross.

Ever modest the Queen replies, “That’s very kind.” It’s not the first time the queen has starred opposite a cultural phenomenon. In 2012 she and Daniel Craig filmed a James Bond skit for the London Olympic opening ceremony. In it, she confers with 007, and later seems to parachute into the stadium (with the help of a body double). According to Buckingham Palace, “the Queen felt the opportunity to invite Paddington to tea was ‘too fun to miss.’”

“Her Majesty is well known for her sense of humour, so it should be no surprise that she decided to take part in tonight’s sketch … While The Queen may not be attending the concert in person, she was very keen that people understood how much it meant to her and that all those watching had a great time.”
