It will take a bit of diplomacy this year when the invites are carefully considered and sent out. Who gets to dine with Her Majesty and who is left to their own devices?

As we speak the Royal Household is said to be investigating as to whether or not the Cambridges, with their three young children, are a health risk to Queen Elizabeth who is 94, and her husband Philip Duke of Edinburgh who turns 100 next year according to the Daily Telegraph. Due to their age, both are in a high- risk group for contracting COVID.

They noted that the risky addition of young children with their exposure to many others at school would need to be factored in.

There Are Special Rules This Year For Holiday Gatherings In The UK

Under the 2020 rules for Christmas break, which is considered to be December 23 to 27, three households can form one bubble that does not mix with other bubbles.

As befits her leadership position, the Queen will abide by the government’s coronavirus rules for her annual gathering which will take place at Sandringham or Windsor.

If they are not invited, the Cambridge’s may choose to spend Christmas with Carole and Michael Middleton, and Kate’s siblings, Pippa and James. Their choice of locations are thought to include Bucklebury, Berkshire, or Anmer Hall, in Norfolk.

Three Households May Get Together This Year To Form One Bubble
