Royal Family News – Why is Charles Visiting Queen Daily?

Royal Family news reveals that the Queen is rethinking attendance at Braemar Games amid concerns that she is perhaps not well enough for the trip, reports Daily Mail. According to a reportedly well-placed source the Queen’s declining health “may make [attendance] unlikely.”

Last seen publicly on July 21, some close to the Queen are harboring growing concerns over her health. Metro UK reports that, according to experts, daily visits to the Queen by Prince Charles are “highly unusual” and demonstrate an increased concern for his mother ahead of a crucial few weeks in which the Queen would normally take the lead.

What Happens If Queen Can’t Appoint PM?

The Sun reported that the monarch isn’t even expected to leave Scotland in September to appoint a new prime minister. The appointment and confirmation of a new prime minister is reportedly a key role and it’s unclear how, in the absence of the 96-year-old Queen, how the whole event will work choreographically.

The Queen has permanently moved from Buckingham Palace choosing instead to remain at Windsor and then raises further concerns over where the meeting would take place should she take part in it.

Will Queen Leave Balmoral?

Queen Elizabeth has battled for over a year with mobility issues missing numerous public appearances including a portion of her own Jubilee celebrations. Some of her closest advisors are now concerned over her comfort during the 48-hour-trip whenever the incoming PM can make the trip to Scotland.

Some may recall that when the Queen arrived in Scotland last month her welcoming party, which is traditionally held in public, had to be moved behind closed doors for a more private ceremony. This was also reportedly due to mobility issues.

Expert Weighs In

The Queen has not been pictured in public since stepping from the plane in Aberdeen, Scotland on July 21. Ingrid Seward, of Majesty Magazine, spoke of Charles’s frequent visits with the Queen, saying, “It’s highly unusual for Prince Charles to make these kinds of impromptu visits to see his mother. But Charles is a very thoughtful person — and who else can she rely on now Prince Philip has gone?

“Everyone thinks they normally see each other all the time, but they don’t. They often blame it on the geography because everyone is scattered all around the country.”
