Royal Family News: Reunited Again, Prince Philip Was the Only Person Who Could Treat The Queen Normal

British royal family news shows that the late Queen Elizabeth’s husband, Prince Philip, died last year at the age of 99. They had been married more than 70 years and she called him her “strength and stay.” He rarely made a misstep and was left his military career in order to be her fulltime royal partner.

It is said that at one point he nearly had a breakdown due to the stress of jettisoning his own ambitions and career to become a full time working royal. But he never complained and never explained, he just kept keeping on.

Royal Family News – Prince Philip Was Outstanding

Their first child Prince Charles was born in November 1948 and changed the family dynamic for the young couple who were thrust into the world spotlight soon after their marriage.

The outlet notes that, “Princess Elizabeth’s confinement — in the Palace’s Buhl Room, specially converted into a well-equipped surgery – had been a painfully long one. Afterwards, she spent ten days in bed recuperating (as new mothers were encouraged to do) and breast-fed her son from the start.”

Patricia Mountbatten told the outlet that, “she thought Prince Philip and Elizabeth chose ‘Charles’ as a name simply because they liked it. Boy Browning [Philip’s Comptroller] was one of those who felt the name was ‘bad news’, given the precedents of Charles I and II, to say nothing of the unhappy fate that befell Charles Stuart, ‘Bonnie Prince Charlie’.” Today his full name is King Charles, III.

“Philip and Lilibet were very happy with their new baby. According to friends who have known them across all their adult lives, the first few years of their marriage were, in many ways, the happiest. Gina Kennard said of their life, “Princess Elizabeth was not yet Queen, Philip was still in the navy. They were young, they were relatively carefree.”

John Gibson, was a ‘nursery footman’ at Windlesham Moor, and he thinks that the couple, “couldn’t wait to get into their new home at Clarence House. They talked about it all the time. I think Grandma is giving me a nice sideboard. I’m sure she is.’ Grandma was Queen Mary, of course.’”

“Later, Gibson would take the young Duke of Edinburgh his early morning tea. And in Birkhall in Scotland, Philip and Elizabeth would drive over to Balmoral with the staff piled into the back of the shooting brake. He’d drive like mad over the country roads. ‘Philip, Philip, slow down for God’s sake, slow down, you’re killing all the rabbits,’ she said. ‘What’s the matter with you?’”

It seems that their early life was gilded and simple, and for the next several decades it would become increasingly complex, like the world around them.

And today, Elizabeth is now together again with her handsome prince, having fulfilled her duty to home and country.
