British royal family news divulges that the Prince and Princess of Wales’ Earthshot event today was hijacked by Reverend Mariama White-Hammond, Boston’s Chief of Environment, Energy, and Open Space.
William and Kate came to the podium in Boston to introduce the Prince’s Earthshot Prize. But before they could speak, Mariama, “gave a strong speech in which she told the crowd to ‘consider the legacy of colonialism and racism,’” according to the Daily Mail.
Her words follow an unfortunate incident at Buckingham Palace in which Lady Hussey was accused of being a “racist.” She is William’s godmother and as soon as the tweet accusing her of being a racist was floated, Buckingham Palace launched an investigation. As a result, the elderly lady forfeited her volunteer role.

She did not reference Hussey, a former lady-in-waiting to Queen Elizabeth who was accused by black domestic abuse campaigner Ngozi Fulani of making racist comments to her at a Buckingham Palace event on Tuesday night. But the message seemed clear, that the reverend was addressing the London situation.
