Prior to the change the Instagram accounts for Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles and Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall, had smiling photographs on display, these were exchanged for pics of poppies. The same was observed on the account of William and Kate the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge

Royal Family News – Camilla Takes Charge

Prince Charles and his wife Camilla had displayed a 2019 portrait of themselves taken in observance of Wales Week. That photo shows the happy couple outside of their official Welsh residence of Llwynywormwoo in Myddfai.

This week that picture was swapped out for one showing the pair at the launch of the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal in October.

This week Camilla took the lead as the country observed a two-minute silence to commemorate Armistice Day. The day had a different look and feel to it as the nation is no longer under strict lockdown rules as it was in 2020.

Royal Family News – The Royal Pictures Have Changed

William and Kate the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also took down a smiling portrait taken in Ireland and its place put a close-up picture of a poppy.

On the Queen’s Instagram account a picture of her taken at MI5 in February 2020 was removed and in its place is one from a Remembrance Sunday event in 2004.

Queen Elizabeth also wrote on Instagram, “On the ‘eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month’ in 1918 the Armistice was signed. Today the nation falls silent at 11:00 in an act of Remembrance of all those who have served and sacrificed.”

Royal Family News – Remembrance Day Is A Solemn Occasion

The Royal Family are known to change their social media profile photos to recognize important events. The last time this was done was in April after the passing of Prince Philip the Duke of Edinburgh.

The Queen is expected to take the lead in giving tributes at the Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday. This week it was Camilla who had that honor outside of Westminster Abbey. There she led commemorations at the 93rd Field of Remembrance, an event that has been starting in 1928.

At one point a bugler played the Last Post, then Camilla and hundreds of veterans observed two minutes of silence
