On Monday the Duchess (who still cohabitates with Andrew) clacked about the media scrutiny she drew while still actively involved with Andrew.
“I was maybe the most persecuted woman in the history of the royal family, but I’m still here,” she told French magazine Madame Figaro. Cue the violins. The redhead added, “The bruised reed that doesn’t break is my DNA.”
To be fair, U.K. tabloids did tag her “Duchess of Pork” and “frumpy Fergie” and compared her to her glam royal rival Princess Diana.
Royal Family News – Sarah Ferguson Is Making Headlines
Ferguson and Andrew married in 1986, had daughters Beatrice in 1988 and Eugenie in 1990, and pulled the plug on their marriage in 1996.
Ferguson clearly has not let go of Andrew: “I loved him and I still love him today,” she said. “I will stay by his side because I believe in him, he is a good man.”
This gushy tribute was her way of defending him while he is enduring scrutiny of his own due to a, “Jeffrey Epstein accuser claiming that he sexually assaulted her.”
Royal Family News – Andrew Has Been Named In A Court Case
The alleged victim, Virginia Giuffre, “claims she was trafficked by the American financier to have sex with Andrew in London in 2001 when she was 17 and a minor under U.S. law. She is suing the prince in a U.S. court,” according to Fox News.
Andrew denies the allegation, telling the BBC in a 2019 interview that he never had sexual relations with that woman, “It didn’t happen.”
Prince Andrew is Named In A Civil Case
His interview was deemed so damaging that he was banned from public royal duties and good luck finding any mention of him on royal social media. The depth of his shame and ostracization was evident when he was not pictured at Beatrice’s wedding.
His ongoing scandal is tied to his friendship with dead convicted pedophile Epstein, whose “pimp” is now on trial. That woman is Andrew’s friend Ghislaine Maxwell who currently is on trial facing similar charges as Epstein.
