Royal Family News: Sarah Fergusson Set To Release Book That Makes 50 Shades Just A Walk In The Park

Royal Family news reveals that with all the Royal Family has had to concern themselves with as of late, a new sexed-up book isn’t likely to help anything, but it’s coming. Read on and we’ll tell you why Sarah Fergusson says her upcoming book will make Fifty Shades of Grey look like a walk in the park.

Royal Family News – Sarah Ferguson’s First – More Slog Than Seduction

Royal Family news reveals that, according to 7 News, a lot of royals find new ways to bring in the cash – from charity work to podcasting – but it seems that Sarah Fergusson could have the market cornered. The Duchess of York is about to release her second book of “adult fiction, titled “A Most Intriguing Lady” which is a follow-up to her original novel, “Her Heart for a Compass”.

The first saucy novel, released in 2021, was co-written by Mills and Boon author Marguerite Kaye. Mills and Boon’s novels are reportedly popular for their “bodice-ripping” erotic scenes and romances. Unfortunately, the duchess’ first novel A Heart for a Compass received mixed reviews. In fact, The Times’ Sarah Ditum said it was “more slog than seduction”.

Book No. 2 Said to be a Real Bodice Ripper

Though regular Mills and Boon readers were reportedly unimpressed by the lack of “sexy shenanigans,” the duchess recently told Town & Country magazine that her new attempts would be much more “sexed up” than her previous book.

“I decided I would remove bodice-ripping from book number one,” Fergusson said. “But I’m now on book number two with Marguerite … I have got a real bodice ripper coming for you. This is going to make Fifty Shades of Grey just a walk in the park”.

Those Pesky Historical Sexual Mores

The first book Ferguson wrote revolved around the character of Lady Margaret Montagu Douglas Scott and took place in the Victorian Era. Its blurb says, “Her Heart for a Compass is a bold and thoughtful story about a rebellious woman finding herself and her voice in an age of astounding technological change and great social unrest.”

Ferguson explained that, in her first novel, she refrained from too many sexual descriptions “in deference to historical sexual mores”. However, “sexual mores” have never stopped Mills and Boon writers before. The feedback that Sarah received around her first novel must have hit home for the royal as she had included more explicit material in novel number two.

Sarah Ferguson Took An Active Role

Don’t think that Sarah just lent her name to sell books either. Co-author Marguerite Kaye said Ferguson took an active role in the writing of the stories and that the book was a collaboration.

“Right from the start it was clear that she wasn’t going to be sitting in the back seat on this,” said Kaye.

“She had a clear vision for what the story was that she wanted to tell, and she wanted to be involved in every stage of the process.” Be sure and stay up to speed on this and other royally related stories. Return here often for more Royal Family news and updates.
