In March 2020 Maxwell filed a suit against Epstein’s estate in the Virgin Islands, after he committed suicide in prison. According to the outlet, Epstein’s island was known as, “pedophile island.” In short, Maxwell’s suit claimed that Epstein promised to pay any legal bills stemming from her “employment” by him.
The alleged costs were, “in connection with any threatened, pending or completed suit [in] relation to Epstein…and his alleged victims.”
In February Prince Andrew paid millions of dollars to former Epstein/Maxwell victim Virginia Giuffre. The out of court settlement ended her lawsuit in which she alleged Andrew sexually assaulted her when she was underage. Andrew has denied the charges.

Maxwell claimed that Epstein, “promised that he would support her financially.” In 2008 he was convicted of, “procuring a child for prostitution and soliciting a prostitute in Palm Beach, Florida, where he had a home.” Virginia Giuffre was one of those victims and prior to her out of court settlement with Andrew, she received money from a victim’s fund set up by Epstein.
Maxwell now has two months to find new legal representation. That may be difficult given the charges of being a serial fraudster pending against her.
