So far, ITV’s media and entertainment boss Kevin Lygo says there are no plans at the moment to replace Jeremy as the host of Who Wants to Be A Millionaire. He said that he has no control of what Jeremy writes in his columns.

“We hire him as a consummate broadcaster of the most famous quiz on television, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?” he said. “So it’s not quite in our wheelhouse but I don’t know what he was thinking when he wrote that. It was awful.”

Needless to say, many royal fans and critics alike sure did have a lot to say on the matter on social media. Some comments included, “Yes, he should stay, not lose his job. I found his comments about Markle obnoxious but he apologized twice and anyway, freedom of speech has to mean something, not be just an empty slogan,” along with, “He made a mistake and has apologized profusely. He is human. Let it go! Much worse things are said/printed everyday and no one cares. Megan has said many horrible things yet…”

Another fan said, “No he should not stay. Having an opinion on a person is one thing but openly wishing harm on them is not. Examples need to be made when actions are so egregious as his have been.”

In his column for The Sun, Clarkson wrote, “We all know in our heart of hearts that Harold Markle is a slightly dim but fun-loving chin who flew Apache helicopter gunships in Afghanistan and cavorted around Las Vegas hotel rooms with naked hookers. But then along came Meghan, who obviously used some vivid bedroom promises to turn him into a warrior of woke. At night, I’m unable to sleep as I lie there, grinding my teeth and dreaming of the day when she is made to parade naked through the streets of every town in Britain while the crowds chant, ‘Shame!’ and throw lumps of excrement at her. Everyone who’s my age thinks the same way.”
