British Royal Family News says that there’s a huge debate on whether or not Prince Andrew’s taxpayer-funded security should be axed. After all, he’s no longer a full-time working royal and he’s not doing public appearances and royal engagements like he used to.
And while he is still living full time in the UK, a lot of people believe that their taxpayers shouldn’t go towards paying his security as he’s more like a private citizen now than a member of the royal family. Here’s what you need to know.
Royal Family News: Should Prince Andrew’s Taxpayer-Funded Security Be Axed?
Prince Andrew’s life definitely isn’t like it was before and especially now that his brother King Charles III has taken the throne. There were reports indicating that the Duke of York wanted to make a comeback in the spotlight, but King Charles is making sure that never happens.
Too much damage has been done with Prince Andrew’s association with the dead but also disgraced financer, Jeffrey Epstein. Not only that, but all the accusations that were made against him have certainly but a dent in his reputation. Andrew was accused of sexual assault and apparently paid his accuser a huge sum of money to make all of the headlines go away.
And while no one knows exactly what Andrew is doing behind closed doors these days, some reports say that he’s still trying to break free from the confines of his very boring life and step back into the spotlight in one way or another.
But before that happens, there’s debate on whether or not British taxpayers should still pay for his security. If he’s not doing any legitimate work for the royal family then what’s the point, right?
