Prince William, Duke of Cambridge and his wife Kate Middleton have two places: a home on Queen Elizabeth’s Sandringham estate known as Anmer Hall and their main residence at Kensington Palace. Writer Christopher Warwick told True Royalty’s Royal beat that he’s not sure the fam should even have both places.

During the country’s third lockdown the Cambridge’s are not living at Kensington Palace and are not expected to return anytime soon.

The couple are now staying at Anmer Hall with their three children. This domicile is located in Norfolk and was gifted to them by the queen on their wedding day.

Anmer Hall reportedly has 10 bedrooms placed on three floors. The couple renovated the place in 2013 after the birth of Prince George. Kate chose modern designer Ben Pentreath to pick out the décor which is said to include rooms decorated in bright colors while some rooms were left in their traditional style.

In contrast, Will and Kate’s other home is in London two miles away from Buckingham Palace. According to Warwick, “All of these royal residences at Kensington Palace are called apartments, which of course makes people immediately think they are flats like the American term for an apartment. They are not.”

“If you think of Kensington Place, in a way, it is built around three courtyards. If you kind of think of them as being these wonderful red brick terrace houses. Because they are all joined but separate houses.”

This residence has four floors and 20 rooms including five reception rooms, three main bedrooms, and staff quarters plus a gym and an elevator. The walls are filled with fine art and there are large fireplaces in all the main entertaining rooms.

This is their home base even though the royal pair lived at Anmer Hall from 2013 until 2017. In September 2017, the couple moved back to Kensington Palace in order to become full-time working royals and are expected to move back to London once restrictions are lifted. In the meantime, is there anything wrong with having a city pad and a country home? Many people do, and no one complains about them!
