Royal Family News – King Charles Goes Down Under
In 2024 King Charles makes his 17th official royal trip to Australia, but this is his first as monarch. As the Prince of Wales, he visited the country over 15 times, and he is expected to journey Down Under in October.
His trip coincides with the Heads of the Commonwealth meeting in Samoa in October. In 2022 Australians voted against abolishing the monarchy but there is still plenty of anti-royal sentiment.
The last time members of the royal clan visited the country was in 2018 when Harry and Meghan, Duke and Duchess of Sussex, stopped by.
Royal Family News – Prince Edward’s Milestone Birthday
On March 10, 2024 the late Queen Elizabeth’s youngest child turns 60. Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, has remained largely out of the spotlight, so it will be interesting to see how the royals celebrate this momentous occasion.
Edward is married to Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, and they have two children, 20-year-old Lady Louise Windsor and 15-year-old James Viscount Severn. The family reside at Bagshot Park in Windsor, and in the past Edward has spent his birthday performing official royal engagements.

On May 6, 2024 Harry and Meghan’s eldest child and only son, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, turns five. According to Vogue “per the Californian education system, he’ll be starting elementary school.
The notoriously private couple are unlikely to release details of where he will be enrolled, but there are plenty of great options near their Montecito mansion, with local experts putting money on The Cate School, whose website says it combines “East Coast tradition and West Coast energy.”

On September 15, 2024 Prince Harry turns 40. The Sussex family live in Montecito, California following their abandonment of the monarchy in 2020.
