Charles And Camilla Celebrate

According to Australia’s news.com.au, “This week marked Chinese New Year and saw Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall visit London’s Chinatown for the celebrations.”

The outlet notes that the couple did not just attend the event but that they made an, “official lunar new year statement wasn’t just posted on their official Twitter and Instagram accounts but also on Weibo, the predominant Chinese social network, in both English and Mandarin.”

Weibo has a millions of users and is called the, “go-to means for foreign corporations and brands from outside the mainland to try to enter the Chinese market. This is the latest move in a Sino charm offensive after he took part in a video roundtable with Chinese business leaders at the personal invitation of President Xi Jinping in October last year.”

Next the outlet points out that Prince William is doing his part to take the monarchy’s good will overseas. He launched the Earthshot Prize in 2019 and it is a global means of tackling climate change. He intends to give out $95 million dollars to individuals who come up with solutions to the climate crisis.

The epic project is described as, “far, far beyond anything we have ever seen from any sort of palace initiative and sets it wholly apart from all other royal good works which have come before.”

The Earthshot Prize Is Epic

The second round of awards will be given out his year, and William has chosen New York as the place where he will announce the winners. After that the 10-year contest, “will travel around the globe for the following eight years.”

In addition to these examples, the outlet notes that Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, as well as Kate Middleton and William, participated in the international G7 meeting held in England. While they were in attendance, the royals spoke with US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron, and then-German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Then in November a clutch of royals were at the Cop26 climate conference in Glasgow where they again rubbed elbows with foreign dignitaries. It would seem the Windsor’s are taking their cue from the Markle’s?
