Royal Family News: This is Why Meghan Markle Will Not Be At Prince Philip’s Funeral

Meghan Markle Royal news reveals that Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex will not be joining her husband, Prince Harry, at his grandfather Prince Philip’s funeral in the U.K. next Saturday. It has been confirmed by a Buckingham Palace spokesperson that Markle will not be in attendance.

Royal Family News – Meghan Markle Will Not Travel To The UK

Philip’s funeral is set to occur at St. George’s Chapel on Saturday, April 17. According to sources, the international travel from California to London was nixed by Meghan’s doctor. Meghan is pregnant and due this summer to give birth to her and Harry’s second child, a daughter.

During a press briefing a royal staff member confirmed: “The Duke of Sussex is planning to attend. The Duchess of Sussex has been advised by her physician not to travel. So the duke will be attending.”

Harry’s arrival in the U.K. will be the first time he is reunited with his family since he and Meghan abandoned them for a life of “financial freedom” in the US.

Royal Family News – Will Prince Harry Travel To The UK?

The service will be influenced by the COVID pandemic. The country currently is in a lockdown, its third since 2020. Due in part to this restrictive atmosphere, the number of guests attending Philip’s funeral will be limited to 30 people. Social-distancing guidelines must be observed and the immediate family is expected to make up the vast majority of the list.

Next week the final guest count will be confirmed along with information on who will deliver the eulogy at the service.

Royal Family News – Prince Philip Will Be Laid To Rest On Saturday

On Friday, Meghan and Harry addressed his grandfather’s demise in a tersely worded post to social media. They wrote fewer than 30 words on their Archewell Foundation website: “In Loving Memory of His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh, 1921-2021,” the couple wrote. “Thank you for your service…you will be greatly missed.

That brief, unemotional acknowledgement is in stark contrast to the over the top mudslinging they did on March 7 when they delivered a salacious tell-all to Oprah Winfrey.

At that time they spent hours destroying his family with innuendo and accusations, and along the way found the time to drag her family around for the destructive ride. The couple went ahead and aired the verbal slugfest while Prince Philip was hospitalized, ignoring the pleas of many to postpone their dirty laundry out of respect.

It's better for her not to be there. For whatever reason.

Personally I truly believe she knows she is not welcome. The people of Britain are done with her and I really think with Harry after he sat and let MM trash his family to Oprah. These are not good people, they will do and say anything for a buck. Send them to Africa to live

I hate to say this at such a time but better Megan doesn't attend and even though the family are in mourning they should still be careful of what they say in Harry's presence. I don't believe his family can trust him anymore.

She definitely should not go to the funeral. She should be begging forgiveness for her “tell all” which was nothing more than a giant whining session. Shame on her and Harry.

She went to her posh baby shower when she was in her third trimester. I’m sure she went anywhere she wanted to go…if she’s as smart as she believes she is, she would definitely be better off staying in their Hollywood mansion
