Strictly Come Dancing is a British tv dance competition in which pairs of ballroom dancers compete to win the ultimate trophy. The catch? One dance partner is a pro, the other an amateur celebrity. The dances are confined to mainly ballroom and Latin dances with studio judges and phone-in fans doing the scoring with eliminations taking place each week.
Strictly Come Dancing debuted on BBC One in 2004, and more than 60 countries now air their own version under the moniker, Dancing with the Stars.
