Unlike Kate Middleton, Meghan just couldn’t stand there, smile, wave, and look pretty for the camera while supporting her husband. She knew that she had to do more.

Speaking of looking pretty, while Meghan had a very strong fashion game, the Duchess of Sussex did not want that to be her focus, especially while she was in the spotlight as a member of the working royal family. Instead, Meghan did things her own way by wearing blazers, trousers, and heck, even black nail polish, much to the dismay of some royal staffers.

While there’s no doubt that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are very much in love, the Duchess of Sussex wanted to be more than just a royal wife who was always waiting in the wings for her husband.
