Royal Family News: Virginia Giuffre Gag Order About Prince Andrew Settlement, For Now!

Virginia GiuffreBritish royal family news shows that Virginia Roberts Giuffre is reportedly forbidden to talk publicly about her sexual abuse claims against Prince Andrew, but only until after Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee. Those are said to be the terms of the out of court settlement announced today between her and Prince Andrew, the Duke of York.

Giuffre filed a civil suit in NYC last August, accusing Prince Andrew of engaging in sex with her three times when she was a minor. She claimed that his friend, dead sex offender Jeffrey Epstein trafficked her to Andrew.

Prince Andrew has proclaimed his innocence and did not admit guilt in the settlement which media sources say is likely in the millions of dollars. Terms of the deal are said to include the understanding that Giuffre, “will continue to tell her story publicly – but not until later in the year, so as not to add further damage to the Royal Family during events to commemorate the monarch’s 70 years on the throne,” according to the Times.

Royal Family News -The Platinum Jubilee Is This Year

Sources told the outlet that there is to be a, “period of silence,” for both parties. Theoretically, after the Jubilee, “Miss Giuffre is expected to be allowed to public a book telling her story at the end of the year.”

Lawyer Mitchell Epner told the Times, “Ordinarily, you would have a complete non-disclosure [agreement] on both sides. Since it’s a settlement in the context of, on its face, an apology from Prince Andrew,’ [he believes Miss Giuffre] ‘has agreed not to say anything [but] she will be in a position to write a book, probably for this Christmas season.’”

Royal watcher Penny Junor thinks that the settlement will be a ‘huge relief’ to the royal family but the damage to Andrew’s shredded reputation is irreversible. She said, “Going to trial, it could have been very, very nasty. It could have been embarrassing, humiliating, and it would have been huge fodder for the tabloid press. It could have really taken the shine off the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee year.”
