Royal Family News: Virginia Roberts WILL NOT Take A Settlement From Prince Andrew

British royal family news reveals the latest development in Prince Andrew’s sexual abuse court case has taken a surprising turn. Today it’s been reported that plaintiff Virginia Roberts, “will only accept a settlement from Prince Andrew if it “holds him to account.” The Daily Mail reports that her lawyer, New York attorney David Boies, has claimed that Andrew, the Duke of York’s denial of ever meeting Roberts is “incomprehensible.”

He said his client will not accept a settlement which allows Prince Andrew to “escape” responsibility due to his wealth and “position.”

Furthermore the lawyer stated that Roberts is unlikely to settle the lawsuit outside of court, “if the Duke of York continued to deny meeting her.” It is the latest headline in a case which seems to be playing out in the media. After the suit was brought, Andrew tried to have it dismissed, the judge refused, then Andrew demanded he be given a jury trial. This seemingly odd request was met with speculation that it was a gambit to force Roberts into accepting a cash settlement.

By asking for a jury trial Andrew becomes the first member of the modern royal family to be cross-examined over significant allegations—if it comes to that.

The lawsuit is due to be heard in autumn, the same year as his mother Queen Elizabeth’s platinum jubilee. The event commemorates 70 years on the throne and having her son face a trial jury on the accusations he is accused of is unfathomable to many royal experts. Apparently Boies himself stated, “he did feel pain for Her Majesty that the legal action was being played out so ‘publicly’, describing it as a ‘mother’s worst nightmare.’”

Boies told The Telegraph that he will not depose the Queen, nor Andrew’s daughters Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie. That will be small comfort to the royals as Andrew’s examination is said to call for such particulars as descriptions of his relevant anatomy.

Roberts filed her case at New York’s southern district court in August 2021. She claims she was an underage sex trafficking victim of Andrew’s friends, convicted sex traffickers Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. Andrew denies the allegation.

Hours after Prince Andrew’s demand for a jury trial was publicized legal experts predicted Andrew would seek a settlement. Boies has thrown cold water on that assertion saying, “What’s important for Virginia is to vindicate herself and the other victims. Not to let someone escape responsibility, just because of their wealth and power. To hold Prince Andrew to account.”
