Today the William the Prince of Wales invited his reportedly estranged brother and his SIL Meghan Markle to join him with Princess Kate as they greeted the crowd at Windsor Castle. Reaching out was an extraordinary gesture given the way Meghan and Harry have trash talked his family over the last two years. Sadly, as if to interject a trickle of that venom, their pet reporter Omid Scobie complained that the invitation came, “at the 11th hour.”

Royal Family News – What Has Meghan Said?

Meghan married Prince Harry in 2018 and together they abandoned the monarchy in 2020. Here are the comments that Meghan has uttered about the late Queen Elizabeth.

In 2017, after Prince Harry proposed to Meghan, she said that it was “incredible” to meet the Queen Elizabeth. Later she would recall: “We had one of our first joint engagements together. She asked me to join her, and I went on the train. And we had breakfast together that morning and she gave me a beautiful gift and I just really loved being in her company, and I know we were in the car — Yeah, she gave me some beautiful pearl earrings and a matching necklace — and we were in the car going between engagements. And she has a blanket that sits across her, her knees, for warmth and it was chilly, and she was like, ‘Meghan, come on,’ and put it over my knees as well.”

We practiced and walked in. … I practiced very quickly and went in, and apparently, I did a very deep curtsey, and we just sat there and we chatted and it was lovely and easy and I think, thank God, I hadn’t known a lot about the family. Thank God, I hadn’t researched. I would have been so in my head about all of it.”

The good and positive things Meghan said above about her Harry’s grandmother just go to show how differently this situation could have gone. Whilst one of the nice things about British culture is being polite and respectful. The nicest and most valuable things to come from American culture is to focus on the positive and ignore the negative. Just look at their most successful Hollywood stars, they keep their negative opinions to themselves. I wish I could be like these positive aspects of British and American culture it does obviously pay, just look how much more we like these people, because we want to be just like that, polite, respectful and positive. Yes, I fail like we all do at times, but we should keep trying. I think things would go better for Meghan and Harry if they did the same. I would like to see this negativity end.
