British royal family news shows that before Prince Harry met Meghan Markle, he lived in a quaint bungalow known as Frogmore Cottage. It was rumored to be right up his ally, a bachelor pad with a tree hammock to relax his cares away.

Once Meghan Markle married him, the cottage was deemed to need extensive renovations to make it, ahem habitable. The taxpayer footed the bill, but the Markle’s took one look and deemed the place a shoddy mess, beneath their standards. They hot footed it to America and the rest is history.

Frogmore Cottage doesn’t deserve the hate. It is a charming pile and to prove the point Princess Eugenie and her new family are quite happy in Harry’s discards. Harry himself even stayed there this month, sans Meghan of course.

What is Frogmore really like? It’s about an hour drive from London, and a mere mile or so from Windsor castle. Far from being the shack that Harry and Meghan have made it out to be, Frogmore cottage has been home to many VIP’s over the years including the Grand Duchess of Xenia Romanov from Russia.

Frogmore got its name from the low-lying marshy environment, home to dozens of loud frogs. The exact layout is top secret but it is Grade II listed. This means that there are some restrictions on how this historic building can be renovated; it has two floors, and a white stucco exterior.

Before Harry thumbed his nose at it, it was split into five staff apartments. After Harry married Meghan they required a serious upgrade and security around the cottage went from a ‘Private’ sign on the gate to a state-of-the-art security system with cameras.

Royal Family News – Prince Harry Is Now In Montecito

It’s rumored that Meghan Markle asked for a gym and yoga studio to be inserted into the place, although we don’t know for sure (there current pad in Montecito has a stripper pole).

If they had stayed, the Royal Lodge at Windsor has a fun playhouse that Archie and Lili would have had access to. It is said that Frogmore Cottage had a suitable nursery put in place, and now Eugenie and her little one can enjoy the comforts of it.

Doesn’t Frogmore sound lovely? It looks delightful from the outside, and the UK taxpayers spent a pretty penny renovating it. At least one member of the royal family is grateful for the accommodations.
