But years before Meghan tied the knot with Prince Harry to become a royal family member herself, she shared one sweet interest with her future royal relatives. Markle, Queen Elizabeth, and several other royal family members adore their pet dogs.
And while the Queen prefers to dote on one specific breed, Pembroke Welsh corgis, Meghan charmed her fans by giving rescued dogs a forever home.
So what happened to Markle’s puppies after she became Duchess of Sussex? Find out the answer below.
How Meghan Markle Adopted Her Two Rescue Dogs
Years before Meghan became a royal mom to two gorgeous kids, she was famed as an actress in “Suits.”
But the busy actress did find time in her filming schedule to become a pet parent. Talking with Best Health in 2017, Meghan described her two rescue dogs.
“Bogart is possibly a Lab/Shepherd mix,” said Markle of the first dog she adopted from a dog rescue shelter.
And Meghan got a very special person to advise her on Bogart.
When she visited the dog at the shelter for the first time, “Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi walk in. She’s like, ‘You have to take that dog.’ And I said, ‘Well, I’m deciding.’ And she’s like, ‘Rescue the dog!’”
And so Markle followed through. Later, she found a little dog at another shelter and named him Guy.
“Guy is a Beagle and 17 pounds,” said Meghan. Describing how close Guy and Bogart had become, the then-actress added, “They are thick as thieves those two.”
Flash forward to life after tying the knot with Prince Harry, and Markle’s pet family has changed, as described below.
Prince Harry, Meghan Walk Dogs In Los Angeles: Where’s Bogart?!
Recently, paparazzi captured Duke of Sussex Prince Harry and Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle walking their dogs near their home in Los Angeles, California, per the Daily Mail.
Since marrying, Harry and Meghan adopted a new dog, a black Labrador named Oz. The Duke of Sussex walked Oz, while Meghan took charge of her rescue beagle, Guy.
But where was Bogart, Markle’s first rescue dog?
Initially, Meghan took only her rescued beagle, Guy, with her when she married Harry.
At the time, Markle shared that some close friends in Canada had temporarily given Bogart a home, according to the Sun.
Insiders assumed that after Megan and Harry settled in Los Angeles, she would get reunited with Bogart.
Wrong.
“Meghan adored that dog but the decision not to take him back was based on Bogart’s relationship with Harry,” revealed an insider.
“Bogart never took to Harry when they spent time together in Canada. He didn’t like Harry.”
And so, given the choice between Harry and Bogart, Meghan went with her royal husband.
As for Bogart’s current whereabouts? We hope that those friends in Canada have given Bogart a wonderful home!
What do you think about Meghan’s decision regarding her rescue dog Bogart? Should she and Harry have hired a dog trainer to help Bogart become friends with Harry?

Yes, Megan should have hired a dog trainer. She is horrible person,
Poor Harry.
When bringing in a furbaby to your life, they become *family* and Meghan dumps family, friends or anyone who does not please her……you get a dog trainer to help you with your dog is that dog does not like someone or something…..I know this for a *fact* as I had to do that. I have been told to put my dog down because he was so aggressive to everyone but me, I just understood where Payton was coming from and took care of the issue. He passed away in March and that broke my heart as he was my soulmate and warrior always looking out for me in this city. Meghan is just a very selfish ego manic who wants everything her way or else…..even with dogs.
If the Dog didn't like Harry, I'd say the Dog was a very good judge of character and MM should have listened, and kept the Dog and let Harry go!!!!
There are some stories circulating as to what "really" happened to MM's Dogs…especially as to "how" her Dog broke its front legs and she sent the Dog to the "supervet" in the UK., and then invited the "supervet" to her wedding, and what really happened to the Dog called Guy. Just sayin'!!!
