According to Us magazine, Meghan chose to remain “slightly away” from Kate the Princess of Wales, and her children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. The outlet also noted that the former cable actress did not stand too close to her father-in-law King Charles’ wife, Queen Consort Camilla during the touching Westminster Abbey event.

Why did Meghan maintain a physical distance? Body language expert Blanca Cobb thinks one reason could be, “her continued tension with the royal family.” And if that is the case, the many “olive branches” that the family gave to her during the ten-day mourning period will be in vain?
Cobb said, “Meghan’s body language doesn’t hint at her relationship with the Queen Consort, Kate and the children. However, standing back and behind the Queen Consort, Kate and the children signals a possible emotional distance.”
All three women, “were in attendance for both Monday’s Westminster Abbey service, procession and the committal service at St. George’s Chapel following the queen’s death at age 96 on September 8.”

Will Meghan Markle Accept Peace?
The expert explained that, “funerals bring out contemplation, reflection and prayer for those who pray,” and Meghan’s distance could have been due to her paying them “respect.”
Cobb added, “Perhaps, she wanted to give them space. Or she needed some space to reflect and think. If she believes that their relationship is strained, then it’s possible that she stood back. You tend to keep a physical distance when you don’t feel emotionally close to someone.”

Meghan and her husband Prince Harry dropped their royal duties in 2020 and in March 2021 ranted against his family during a tirade-filled CBS Oprah Winfrey interview.
In response, the family was shocked and hurt, and attempts to mollify the brazen couple have seemed for naught. They were in the UK purely by chance when she died, conducting what some royal experts called a “pseudo-royal” mini tour.
