Royal Family News: Why Does Prince Andrew Retain Privileges Denied To Prince Harry?

Prince AndrewBritish royal family news reveals that Prince Andrew and Prince Harry are a lot alike. Both are members of the British royal family and each has brought a certain shadiness to the clan. Andrew is the subject of an ongoing sexual assault lawsuit and Harry is subject to an ongoing case verbal diarrhea.

Are they treated equally given their similar outsider status? That is a matter up for debate.

Prince Andrew is accused of sexual assault by Virginia Giuffre. This week the Metropolitan Police announced they will not take any further action in the matter. Met Police chief Cressida has concluded of Virginia’s claims about Prince Andrew, “We are taking no further action.”

Royal Family News – How Are Andrew And Harry Alike?

After abandoning the monarchy, Meghan and Harry lost privileges that Andrew has kept. Take for instance the matter of security.

The thirsty pair are now in America and they have lost the privilege of a royal police detail. What about Andrew? Even though he is in mothballs as far as being a royal rep for the queen, he still gets royal protection.

Prince Andrew has three bodyguards at a reported cost of £300,000 and Harry now is thought to pay for his own security. Likewise, Harry lost coveted military titles while Prince Andrew retains his. Harry lost his honorary military titles including Captain General of the Royal Marines, Honorary Air Commandant of RAF Honington and Commodore-in-Chief Small Ships and Diving.

What has Andrew lost? Nothing. His mother Queen Elizabeth is on board with him having all of his honorary titles, including Colonel of the Royal Highland Fusiliers, Colonel-in-Chief of the Yorkshire Regiment, Commodore-in-Chief of the Fleet Air Arm and Honorary Air Commodore in the RAF.

On a related note, poor Prince Harry did not lay a wreath at the Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday in 2020. Andrew was not in attendance either, but he was allowed to lay a wreath at the 2019 Remembrance Sunday just a few months after he was implicated in the sordid Jeffrey Epstein scandal.

Has the punishment meted out to Prince Harry and Andrew been in line with their offences? Some would argue that Andrew retaining his privileges is a matter of him not renouncing his family as Harry has. Then there are those who see Harry’s behavior as much less offensive than Andrew’s. For now it is in the queen’s hands as to what entitlements her kin keep.

      Andrew did not leave the Royals like Harry did so that is why Andrew should keep his privileges
      Harry should have thought things over before he jumped the gun

      I believe that Prince Harry should have been able to keeps his Royal Titles because he served his Country in The Military. He did His Country Proud by serving in the services, and those where his Military Titles. I know The Queen is the ruler of England, but Prince Harry should be entitled to retain these titles. Prince Andrew Has screwed up too but he keeps to keep his titles, that is not fare because he has done much worse. I know he is his mother’s favorite son, but Prince Harry is her grandson and he deserves the same respect.

      Andrew loves and respects his mother, the Queen. If Harry had any respect for the Queen he would not have done her harm. He can spout that he loves her but then he should show it by keeping his mouth shut. Now he is at his disrespect again in writing about the family. Poor little Harry. Such a hard life!

      Harry bad mouthed the Royal Family to the World AND also denounced Britain by moving to America and trying to make money by lies, deceit, and an arrogant wife, who thinks She is better than the Queen! Harry is delusional and needs psychiatric help. Andrew’s crimes are self inflicted but He never badmouthed His Mother or anyone in the RF, deliberately to make money! Harry can rot!
      Diana would feel betrayed by Harry!
      He lacks Loyalty, Honor and Duty. Diana taught Him all of these!

      I think Harry got what he deserved and his bad behavior is self-induced and obvious. Andrew has not been convicted of anything, only accused.
