Royal Family News: Why Was Meghan Markle Blocked On Moroccan Red Carpet in Viral Video?Royal Family news reveals that in a recent viral TikTok video, Meghan Markle appears to be guided away from the red carpet in Morocco, leaving her husband Prince Harry to walk the carpet alone. Read on and we’ll give you the low down.

Royal Family News – Red Carpets Are For Royals Only

Royal Family news reveals that, according to Newsweek, the Duchess of Sussex was told that “red carpets are for royals only” in a now-viral TikTok video. There could be more context to this story than what can be conveyed in a video.

The Sussexes were photographed arriving at the Moroccan Royal Family’s residence in Rabat to meet with Crown Prince Moulay Hassan. The date was February 23, 2019.

After stepping from the car Prince Harry proceeded to walk the red carpet to inspect the Guard of Honor with Meghan, seemingly, walking with him. However, what appears to be a palace staff member can be seen stepping between her and the prince and guiding her in a different direction – off the red carpet. The TikTok user apparently thought it was a snub, “Red carpets are for Royals only.”

TikTok Video Story Has Holes

Three years after the incident was depicted, the video was uploaded to TikTok, and it has now gone viral with 8.8 million views. The video is captioned with the words, “Moments Meghan Markle got grounded by royal protocol.

“See how she was shown a different path from Harry’s, away from the red carpet in Morocco. This was Morocco telling Meghan that red carpets are for royals only.” There are, however, many problems with what the clip appears to be implying.

Meghan Markle Has A Princess Title

One major flaw in the TikTok video’s narrative is that Meghan Markle was a member of the Royal Family back then and she still is as she is. Since marrying Prince Harry in 2018, Markle received the title Princess Henry of Wales. Apparently, most royal women do not style themselves with titles that involve dropping their own first names.

Also notably off about the image is that, at the time that the video was taken, Markle was still a working royal. Meaning that she and Harry had not yet left the working royal life behind and moved to California. That wouldn’t go down for another year, as they announced that they were stepping down in January 2020 and actually walked away in March.

She Walked The Carpet At Other Times

Markle wore a red Valentino dress for the occasion and was photographed in later moments standing on the red carpet shaking hands with the Moroccan Crown Prince. She also walked the red carpet elsewhere during the Moroccan tour, including at the Casablanca Airport hours earlier.

At the time, in 2019, Hello! Magazine reported that questions had been asked about Meghan stepping off the red carpet away from Harry. Be sure and stay up to speed with this and other royally related stories. Return here often for more Royal Family news and updates.
