According to former counter terror chief Neil Basu, threats against Meghan were “disgusting.” He is leaving his job as the Met’s Assistant Commissioner of Specialist Operations and today spoke about some of his experiences.
He was asked if the threats against Meghan were credible and he said, “if you’d seen the stuff that was written and you were receiving it… the kind of rhetoric that’s online, if you don’t know what I know, you would feel under threat all of the time.” Everyone knows the online space can be a sewer at times and no one should have to feel unsafe.

Basu seemed to step in it and reveal heretofore unrevealed info by saying, “People have been prosecuted for those threats.”

He is set to leave the Met after 30 years, and like Meghan he is not without controversy. According to the Daily Mail, “he also suggested his outspoken views on race had seen him blocked from becoming head of the National Crime Agency and demanded a crackdown on racist officers.”

The outlet notes that Basu, “was Britain’s most senior ethnic minority police officer,” and has spoken about, “his personal experience of racism and said his outspoken views on the issue saw him lock horns with the government. He claimed this may have cost him the chance of taking over as head of the National Crime Agency.”

Basu also stated that he, “was proud to be woke.” In an interview with a television news outlet Basu went on to say, “I speak about race because I know something about race because I’m a 54-year-old mixed race man.”
He also raised eyebrows by claiming that, “hundreds if not thousands of police officers need to go,” based on his personal woke beliefs. In that case, who is going to protect the public, let alone princesses?
