This stunning action was taken after it was revealed that the channel is planning to air a, “documentary alleging that Prince Harry and Prince William were part of a smear campaign against each other at the height of their feud,” according to the Daily Beast.
The media is constantly putting the palace under a microscope, so why are they so hot over this particular show? The point of contention hinges on the fact that the palace wants to review the program in advance to its airing. They reportedly argued that they are, “being denied the right to reply to the damaging allegations.”
Royal Family News – The Queen And Her Clan Are Furious
Relations between the BBC and the royal family are already contentious. This stems in large part from the revelation that deception on the part of Martin Bashir was used to secure his infamous interview with the late Princess Diana.
A formal investigation was launched this year and in May the corporation issued an apology for their part in the deception.
The new documentary is titled The Princes and the Press and airs on BBC Two on Monday and Tuesday nights. It is thought that the doc will bring forth claims by, “Omid Scobie that Prince William and his staff leaked a suggestion that Prince Harry was struggling with his mental health after Harry and Meghan’s bombshell interview with Tom Bradby in Africa, in which Meghan suggested that the royal family had not checked if she was “okay” as she struggled with royal life.”
Royal Family News – Scobie Doo Is A Soul Mate
Why would Scobie Doo do such a thing? He calls himself Meghan Markle’s “soulmate,” so infer from that what you will.
In fact that very claim was deleted from an ITV documentary entitled Harry and William: What Went Wrong? The correction occurred right before that program aired in July. Which would indicate that the claim is unreliable or not worth fighting for or both?
BBC media editor Amol Rajan is behind the two-part film. The BBC says it provides “context” for William and Harry’s often contentious interactions with the media.
