Royal Family's Fresh Money Scandal, Does it Involve Prince Harry Or Prince Andrew?British royal family news reveals that the royal family is being accused of yet another juicy scandal and the first week of the new year isn’t even over. King Charles’ Windfall

The royals are set to receive $165 million this year from the government, an obscene amount according to some critics.

Marie Claire reports that in 2025, King Charles, Queen Camilla, and the rest of the real royals are in for a rise in government funding.

Specifically, in April the Sovereign Grant, which helps fund royal activities, increases by more than $56 million which means that the monarchy will get $165 million overall in funding.

It should be noted that “a percentage of the profits of the Crown Estate revenue (initially set at 15%)” contribute” contribute to the Sovereign Grant.

Still, some critics have noted that the U.K. government is “struggling to find money” which makes its payment to the crown troublesome for some.

Monarchy abolitionist and Republic CEO Graham Smith told Town & Country: “This is public money, all of this money comes from the government, at a time when the government is not able to properly fund schools, hospitals, police. It is scandalous…Not only should it not be going up at all, it should be going down.”

For his part, royal pundit Richard Palmer seems to side with Smith’s argument. He said that the public is watching government spending carefully and that this includes Sovereign Grant money.

According to Palmer “The days of the Royal Family doing three and a half thousand engagements a year are now long gone, so the public is getting less for their money. I do think that the monarchy in general does a good job for the country and is part of the glue that binds us all together but that doesn’t mean that as an institution, as individuals, they should be able to avoid criticism. They are not above scrutiny.”

Tell us royal fans, do you agree that the monarchy is overfunded, or does its pull a tourist attraction more than make up for any money given to it by the government?
