Prince Louis, the youngest son of Prince William and Kate Middleton, was the hit of the closing pageant of Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee.
Little Louis Knew How To Get Attention
The three young children of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge sat between their parents on Sunday, June 5 to close out the four-day celebration of their great-grandmother who was celebrating 70 years on the British throne. However, it was four-year-old Prince Louis who got all the attention in a viral video in which he puts his hand over his mother’s face and then seems to sass her with a silly children’s face game.
The video had Twitter going wild, wondering why Kate didn’t discipline her son in front of the world, and also chalking Louis’ behavior up to bad parenting. That didn’t mean there weren’t a few tender moments between mother and son during the two-hour extravaganza, but their cuddling and affection didn’t get as many likes and retweets as the one in which the little boy was misbehaving.
What Went On Behind The Scenes
Mike Tindall, the grandson-in-law of Queen Elizabeth, told the host of The Good, The Bad, and The Rugby podcast that Louis and all the children were quite tired by the end of the four days and that he thought he was exhibiting typical child behavior. “It’s tough for them. They’re all young. It’s a long time,” Tindall said, according to Fox News. “But as any parents know, you just do whatever needs to be done.”

He also let listeners into a little secret regarding what the children were eating that may have contributed to Louis’ behavior. “Louis, he was just wanting to have fun. And my two [daughters, Mia and Lena] are always mischievous, so it’s trying to keep a lid on,” Tindall continued. “There were a lot of sweets out back though, so there was a real sugar high.”
In fact, it was Tindall’s own little girl, Lena, who was seen passing some sweets to Princess Charlotte, who was happy to have them. After all, they are children and it was a very long and stressful four days, even for little ones. Considering the world was watching, these children were very well behaved.
That doesn’t mean Louis is not now one of the most-watched royals as people wonder what antics the little boy will be up to next.
