Sarah Ferguson and her reportedly non-stop hunt for financial security hit a major roadblock. In the past, it seemed that Queen Elizabeth acted as a safety net for the York family, but with Prince William, it seems he’s less patient about any form of family “grifting.” Read on for more details.
A ‘Lust For The Dollar’
Just ahead of the breaking news about Sarah Ferguson’s ex, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s arrest, royal expert Neil Sean talked about ‘Fergie’ during his From The Heart of London segment on his vlog, Daily News Headlines.
Scathingly, Sean sarcastically talked about how Fergie long demonstrated an “endless desire, need, and really, lust for the dollar.”
Sean believes that Fergie always fantasized about new paths to finance her lifestyle. Obviously, her ex-husband, Prince Andrew, AKA Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor couldn’t always support her.
Hunting For An Income Source
Nonstop, Fergie tried fundraising for herself, and folks get that. But sometimes, things turned out a “complete fiasco.” For example, as an “agony aunt” on ITV’s This Morning.

Additionally, she tried capitalizing on her novels, and more. Actually, the struggle seems non-stop. The ‘Firm’ however, seems to be saying ‘enough’ at last. That comes after rumors about a tell-all, and bad news regarding the Epstein File drop.
The Bridgerton Ambition
The latest “rescue plan” involved the Netflix hit, Bridgerton. Allegedly, Sarah Ferguson felt rather keen for a role in the series. Apparently, according to the royal family expert, she attempted using her connections with Coronation Street actress Sally Dynevor to get her foot in the door.
However, it also seemed that a proposal arrived that they shoot her cameo at the Royal Lodge: not that she lives there anymore. According to Sean, there’s a frosty relationship between the monarchy and Netflix after controversial scenes in The Crown. So, it seems that Sarah Ferguson’s somewhat tone deaf, if the story’s real.
William Draws a Line in the Sand
More often these days, Prince William seems to be the one in the royal family vetting “day-to-day” matters. Well, Sean claimed that when the plan for a Netflix film crew on royal property arrived on William’s desk, he immediately shut it down.
Sean said, “Guess who was able to make sure that that never actually happened? That’s right, Prince William… all the day-to-day stuff goes across his desk.”
Notably, by blocking a potentially lucrative payday, William gave Sarah Ferguson and others in the royal family a clear message: the days of using royal status and royal real estate for personal commercial gain just ended.
Viewers React
At the moment, the royal family sits in the nearest ditch in royal family watchers’ approval ratings. So, they feel miffed that the former Duchess of York spent decades trading on a title that wears thin.
One person opined in the comments, “The royal family would be far better off without the York and Sussex families in their lives.”
Here are a few more responses from the discussion:
- Prince William has a moral compass. He’s a man of integrity and inner strength.
- That poor man PW needs eyes in the back of his head to keep up with all this stuff.
- Fergie’s had an unbelievably cushy life for 30 years courtesy of the RF. I think that’s plenty. Time for her children to take care of her.
Nevertheless, it might have all come crashing down anyway. After all, a recent update from ABC News revealedd that Sarah Ferguson “is seeking to dissolve six of her companies after DOJ documents revealed her close ties to Jeffrey Epstein and convicted associate Ghislaine Maxwell.”
What are your thoughts? Is Prince William right in stopping commercial ventures on royal grounds? Or, should Sarah Ferguson be allowed to earn a living anyway she can? Sound off in the comments below, and come back here often for all your royal family news and updates.
