Prince William has had a year that he will probably want to forget. And that’s not just because of his wife Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnosis, but also because everything that could go wrong certainly did go wrong for him.

Clearly, there are a lot of anti-monarchists who believe that the monarchy should be abolished altogether. And seeing how Prince William is the future king of England, he is certainly going to get the brunt of all the criticism.

Prince William also had a huge failure on his hands. This time around it had to do with his EarthShot Awards in South Africa. Unfortunately for the Prince of Wales, none of the major networks and publications from around the world covered his event.

That’s because all eyes were more focused on the presidential election in the United States. A lot of critics are calling it poor timing but others say that Prince William should have known better on his end.

South Africans were just unhappy that he showed up in the first place as they held up signs that said, “Not your sovereignty” and “Not my prince.”

The Prince Of Wales Has Had A Difficult Year

For the Prince of Wales, this is the last thing that he wanted to face during an already miserable and disastrous trip.

When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle traveled to South Africa in 2019, they didn’t get that same kind of treatment, yet William is being treated like he’s an unwelcomed dictator.

William is also having a hard time because despite everything that is going on in his life and how his reputation took a hit because of his wife Meghan Markle, Harry is still far more popular than Prince William ever was in his life.

A lot of fans and critics on both sides of the pond would say that Prince Harry just has that kind of natural charisma that whenever he walks into a room, everyone just wants to be near him.
