See What the White House Has To Say About the Princess Kate Photo Controversy

The Princess Kate Mother’s Day photo controversy has reached places and even ignited important talks at the other side of the ocean.

See What The Biden Administration Has To Say About Altering Photos

In a press briefing on Tuesday, a reporter asked Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House’s press secretary, if the executive branch has ever altered any photos of President Joe Biden or other officials? “Has the White House ever digitally altered photos of the president?” the reporter queried.

To this, a slightly peeved Jean-Pierre replied: “Digitally altered? I would say no. Why would we digitally alter photos? Are you comparing us to what’s going on in the U.K.? What does the monarchy have to do anything with us? No, that is not something that we do here.”

Later on during the briefing, another reporter asked, “Does the president have any thoughts on the controversy surrounding Kate Middleton? Is it something that he’s been following? Do you know if he’s worried about it?”

Jean-Pierre then said that the White House offers “her a speedy recovery” and that she can’t go beyond that.

In case you don’t fully understand how this whole photo manipulation controversy began, let me bring you up to speed.

Prince William took an adorable picture of his wife Princess Kate and his children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. Before sharing it on their joint account, Kate decided to do some “amateur” editing.

That bit clear? Okay, when the picture went online, it received lots of love and for a moment, many saw it as a confirmation that the Princess of Wales’ recovery was going well.

Then things took a turn when Associated Press and Getty Images issued a literal “kill” order on the picture, insisting that the manipulation done on the picture does not fit their standards.

The rest as they say is history. The conspiracy theories ran rampant and the global effect was startling.

It got so the Princess of Wales released a personal apology, writing, “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused.”

Thank you White House for that brief clarification. Now can we move on?
